Which version did you try to compiled? 4.2?

Have you checked out the directory programs/Xserver?
Have got the file Xkbdev?

Best regards

If you are trying to compile the 4.2 version then you to change in kdrive.cf
the value XfbdevServer to yes.

Then it should buid the Xkbdev

Best regards

Messerer Juergen:
I did not know if I had modified the host.def site.def cross.def Tiny.cf
in xc/config/cf correctly. But I can see that the arm cross-compile had
worked.
I get message from internet, perhaps the XFree86 source package will be
patched, isn't it? If yes, where did I download this arm-patch for XFree86.
Can u give me any suggestion, thanks a lot!

The methods for compiling XFree86 with a cross compiler ***have changed
since XFree86 4.2 shipped***, as a new, and arguably better arrangement
for cross-compilation done by Egbert Eich was merged last summer.

For directions which apply to compiling *with the current XFree86 CVS*
specifically for the iPAQ (an ARM based system) using our toolchain,
see: http://www.handhelds.org/minihowto/building-x.html. These
are very slightly dated, and I'll probably update them sometime very
soon, but I think things should still work as is (I did some work recently
working at trying to reduce the server size; this uncovered some problems/bugs
that have been fixed in the last week or two). Things will likely
be a bit different with different toolchains, etc, but be useful.

Now that RandR is done, I'm hoping to get to the whole touch screen
issue in the next few days, barring further interruptions. But we
(Keith Packard and I) judged that everyone *really* wanted resizing their
screens on their desktops and this was most important to the largest community,
and we had to ensure it made the code freeze for XFree86 4.3.
